Green Library
The “Green Library” is a special department of the “Ivan Goran Kovačić” Public Library in Karlovac, located within the Aquatika – Freshwater Aquarium public institution.
The services of this department are primarily intended for children and youth, students, scientists, tourists, and the local community, with the goal of raising awareness about exceptional biodiversity while educating users through literature and activities on sustainable ways to utilize Croatia’s natural resources.
By developing new content and promoting the reading of environmentally-themed materials through targeted audience education, relationships with visitors to the Aquatika institution are strengthened, and the joy of reading is brought closer to them.
Workshops and storytelling sessions held every Saturday at 10 a.m. foster and create a new audience.
All activities are conducted by librarians, Aquatika staff, and external lecturers, while book presentations are organized in collaboration with Croatian publishers.
