Access to information

The right to access information owned, possessed or managed by the Public Institution AQUATIKA – KARLOVAC FRESHWATER AQUARIUM, is regulated under the Act on the Right to Access Information. This Act lays down the principles of the right to such access, exceptions to the right to such access, and procedures for attaining and protecting the right to access information. The aim of the Act is to enable and secure information for natural and legal persons through the openness and public work of public administration bodies, pursuant to the Act.

The right to information is achieved by submitted a verbal or written request to the Public Institution AQUATIKA – KARLOVAC FRESHWATER AQUARIUM.

If the request is submitted in writing, it is necessary to fill out the form Request to access information, or the form Request to reuse information, or the form Request for supplementation or correction of information. These forms can be submitted by:

  • In person, at the aquarium on working days from 8 am to 4 pm.

The right to access information is a fundamental human right, protected under the Constitution of the Republic of Croatia, the European Convention on Human Rights and Freedoms, the Convention on Access to Official Documents, and the Act on the Right to Access Information (OG 25/13, 85/15). The right to access information is the right of the user to request and obtain information of a public nature, and includes the obligation of public authorities to enable access to the requested information, or to publish the information independent of the submitted request when such publication ensues from an obligation stipulated by law or other regulation. The right to access information is a guaranteed the right under the Constitution of the Republic of Croatia and the Act on the Right to Access Information, enabling all natural and legal persons to obtain the information in the possession of public administration bodies in the Republic of Croatia, regardless of the purpose for which the information is to be used.
